Smit Mathur asked:
Networking is an interconnected collection of autonomous computers, allowing all the users controlled access, in a cost effective manner. The main application of a good network is sharing. The sharing can be of any hardware, software or peripheral devices that are very costly and/ or are very less in number.
With networking, you can access remote database and communication facilities. For a smooth functioning, a business is required to have a suitable networking support. There are various types of Network infrastructure services, such as LAN, MAN, and WAN. All small business-network solutions have LAN as their base. A LAN or local area network covers only a small area, which may be a office or a building. The main purpose of the business networking solutions is to serve its users in resource sharing.
A Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) is spread across an entire city. For example, a cable TV network. The purpose of this kind of business networking solutions is also to facilitate the sharing of hardware and resources among its users. Another Network Infrastructure Design available is WAN or Wide Area Network, which is a group of computers that are separated by large distances and tied together. The basic Network Security and Support Services, keeping LAN, MAN and WAN in view, are modem and robust.
The Network installation services, in general, use both branded as well as non-branded, equipments, including products of some of the best companies like IBM, Compaq, Apple, and Toshiba. However, if you are low on budget, you can also choose from used and refurbished products.
There are also various network-monitoring services offered by the network provider, wherein a remote network monitoring service keep an eye on your network and ensures its smooth working. There are various specific network protocols designed to implement better safety within a client-server business network, to attain better network security and privacy. Qualified network professionals monitor for any spiteful activity under the purview of these business networking solutions.
Effective network installation services helps in setting up network quickly and effectively, in case of relocation of existing networks.
There are companies that provide comprehensive network security and support services, to ensure proper functioning of the network by their prompt troubleshooting services.
While companies who can afford keep their own qualified networking support for throughout maintenance and monitoring of the networking infrastructure, small businesses with limited budget prefer to outsource the services on an AMC contract or akin.

Noel Lillis asked:
arketing, also known as multi-level marketing, is the business model of profits moving downwards in a stream from the company owner to those who sell the products, either directly or indirectly.
In essence, it is the small companies or individuals who make most of the sales and have all of the contact with customers and do most of the advertising for the products. However,it is the parent company which is responsible for getting the product to the buyer. This tiered structure of network marketing is a business model that is in place for many large companies and is growing more common. Their services and products are advertised by smaller companies and buyers are recruited by them. The smaller companies are a kind of middleman between the client and the parent company, removing a lot of work from the hands of the parent company and hopefully making a decent income for themselves. MLM companies eliminate wholesalers, high cost of advertising, having employees, and they deliver product or service to the end consumer. This greatly reduces the expense of getting the product or service to the marketplace. MLM has paved the way for people to have their own business . MLM has been around for over forty years now and started as a part time business opportunity. However by the mid eighties many people were earning substantial incomes and were beginning to operate their business full time.
Network marketing is not for the persons who easily become tired of waiting. The very nature of this business requires a lot of patience. Network marketing is NOT about taking advantage of your friends and relatives. Only a few years ago, network marketing meant retailing to, and sponsoring people from, your “warm list” of prospects. Network Marketing is a familiar marketing strategy that involves direct recruitment of salespeople, who sell the product and recruit more salespeople,(their downline) building an extensive network. It is similar to other multi-level marketing approaches such as affiliate marketing.
Building an organization must come first.More people fail than succeed by trying to do it the other way around. They try to build the organization by emphasizing selling. It is important point to remember.Your sales must come as the natural result of building an organization.
Network marketing is an excellent way to earn extra money without compromising what you are currently doing.Network marketing is sharing information that results in product sales.
People involve themselves because they want to finally be compensated for what they consider their efforts are really worth. Network Marketing is all a numbers game. By numbers game I mean that the more people you contact or email, the more articles you write, the more videos you post, then the more leads and sales you will receive.
Network Marketing is the actual sale of products, services, or information to others within a cohesive and strongly built team environment. To break it down simply, however, Network Marketing is a process in which you share information while developing contacts. Network marketing is about recruitment because in a way by far the most important thing to do is to build a marketing team . People join your team to learn how they can become successful too.
Network Marketing is a proven business system, which has been in existence since the 1940’s. Income is generated in two ways – through personal sales and bonus earned from team building. Network Marketing is particularly suited to people with family commitments as it offers them an opportunity to start a business on a part time basis with very little capital.
The opportunity now exists for enterprising people to use their talents and skills to build businesses based both on selling and on finding and supporting the efforts of others.
Network marketing is one of the best places where you can find the opportunity to develop a winning mindset. But only those who are willing to learn can hope to benefit from this opportunity.
Network Marketing is advancing through the same growing pains that the franchise industry went through in the past. Because network marketing relies on developing and keeping trusted relationships, the product quality and service is often much higher than standard retail brands.
Internet prospecting is a tool that enables you to identify people who have an interest in a home business. It will still be up to you to personally contact these people and help them.
Internet and network marketing are similar, in that you want your message to be seen by those who are interested in your offering. This is nowadays the strategy to build your internet home based business. The Internet allows you to build a larger marketing network that you will be able to use more effectively. The network marketing strategy still needs to be created for the online marketing network.
Success is based on following very basic principles and remembering that this is a serious business for serious people. Some people make a great deal of money through their respective businesses, but only a small number at the very top have managed to pull a significant income. Success requires a business owner to build a large network of people who buy and sell products/services and recruit others who’ll do the same. The internet now enables network marketers to build national and international businesses from the comfort of their home. Therefore the opportunity is available to you too.

Adam Price asked:
ness owners are in some form of business network or even multiple business networking hubs both locally and online. However the one problem that has been at the forefront of my mind with these networks is they don’t actively stimulate daily participation, nore is there the reward there to bring in new members to network with.
The main thing with a lot of online networking programs (while they can be extremely effective, if your strategy is right) is firstly:
1. They are somewhat difficult and rather confusing to setup and find your way around.
2. They aren’t all that effective for the untrained or those left to their own devices to set them up and utilize them.
3. A lot of people are using them for multi-level marketing recruitment, which causes a lot of business owners to steer clear of them.
4. To get the true power of the service you need to upgrade your service level, where you’re supposed to get more exposure and tools to use for your business networking communications.
5. There is no real money to be made by joining their program that would amount to any real income from affiliate commissions.
6. They don’t seem to grow under their own steam, meaning that new online business members don’t approach you to learn more about your business.
All the above and much more, really stunts your business growth from online business network sources. If you’re lucky enough to know how to really work these online hubs however, you’re going to make some very good contacts that will be extremely valuable to your business over the long term.
The above that I’ve just explained are how a typical online network for business works. Now I’m going to cover how a brand new forms of online business are now coming into play on the net.
I’ve been lucky consult with the founders and directors of many online networking hubs, as I’ve aided them with their online marketing and strategy for the launch of their particular networks.
What I’ve found is the fact that not many of them offer “automatic growth” mechanisms to help you grow your business, even if you become part of the network and then for whatever reason don’t actively participate.
And some online networks don’t offer very simple, yet extremely powerful interfaces for managing your business network and the contacts you come in touch with over time. This is imperative if you’re to stay active with your online networking efforts, otherwise it will just feel “Too Hard” and you’re results will drop off as you begin to withdraw from your efforts.
I’ve found that the fact that while many online networking hubs are free, that some of the best results have come from paid hubs, for both me and my clients, and from studies done by online networking hubs. Some hubs range from between $10 to $50’s per month to be part of, you can very quickly get your membership costs back in selected networks. And to take this a step further, some even offer affiliate type referral programs to allows you to make an income on top of building your existing business.
The best online hubs, really acknowledge how important it is to integrate other business networks and they basically engulf all the other networks out there and include them as an opportunities to join them from within their own network, now that’s a real grandaddy of networking strategy!
All I can say is this, spend some time researching for online networks that will suit you and your business direction. I’ve baasically pulled quite a number of them apart, and put them back together and have my chosen ones that I cannot find any flaws in for my business, I urge you to do the same for your business… It will be worth your while!

Winson Lim asked:
What is Network Marketing?
Do you know how network marketing works? I have been network marketing for almost 5 years. I have been told by my upline that network marketing is all about recruiting downlines into my business. I spent thousands of dollars and stock up a lot of products as I want to be promoted to the position of supervisor. I always thought that by doing this, it would be a fast track to success. What is network marketing?
Are you familiar with these real life stories? Or are you one of the victims that are bought into the ideas? I have tasted countless of rejections every single day and have done countless of cold calls and surveys and everyone seems to avoid me. So what is network marketing all about?
In every network marketing company, there are 2 fundamental elements that every company must have. They are products and a marketing system. Have you ever heard of people telling you that to succeed in network marketing, you need to find a company with outstanding products or with the best compensation plan? Let me briefly explain to you what is network marketing.
Network marketing is a business unit that comprises of a team of motivated individuals that have a common goal in their mind. What is it? It is about helping other people to get what they want.
Network Marketing Today on the Internet
What is network marketing? Network marketing today is different from what it was 5 years ago. It has transformed into an internet business opportunity. It is no longer a struggle for network marketers to recruit people into their business. On the internet, we can make money online even if prospects do not want to join our network marketing business. Do you get the idea?
This business revolution is a whole new opportunity for people who want to work in a home based business by making a living online earning monthly residual income. They can make extra income by monetizing their list selling other digital products or network marketing plr (private label rights) products that help in their prospects network marketing business.
What is Network Marketing?- Is it a Scam?
Network marketing is definitely not a scam. A scam is a business opportunity that has no products to sell and there is only monetary investment involved in the transaction. It gives false promises to prospects about the ROI, return of investment that they will be getting in 6 months or 1 year. Recently, there is news all over about this scams that cheated people money and gave them false promises that don’t even exist at all.
Trust me. There is no such thing as a “get rich quick scheme”. There is no secret to succeed in network marketing on the internet. I am going share with you how are you going to go about doing it even if you are a newbie. What is network marketing and the internet going to help you on your network marketing business?
Making full use of Network Marketing PLR products
First, before you even want to sell something or selling your business opportunity on the internet, you need to brand yourself as an expert. Branding takes time and massive advertising is what it takes to get you notice on the internet. How are you going to go about doing it? Building a list of prospects is your first step.
You can create your squeeze page, lead capture page or outsource to professionals to do it for you if you have the advertising budget. Next is to find a free report to give away. There are network marketing plr products on Google that you can purchase at a low price. Purchasing a plr e-book to brand it as your own is a good idea to give away as a free report to entice prospects to give away their name and email address.
Your goal is to collect a list of prospects, build a huge list, follow up with them, build relationships and market to them your products and your business opportunity. Instead of writing your own e-book, you can quickly brand yourself as an expert by purchasing network marketing plr products at an affordable price to brand it as your own.
Driving Traffic using Network Marketing PLR products
Next, you need to have traffic. What I mean is that, you need to drive traffic, visitors to your lead capture page, squeeze page that you have created. No traffic means no prospects. Literally your internet network marketing business will die off and passed away. How can you drive traffic to your squeeze page? Again, you can use network marketing plr products like private label rights articles, rewrite it and send to article directories. Or you can purchase network marketing plr videos to rebrand it using AVI source files and submit to video sharing sites.
I simply love network marketing plr products as it saves me a lot of time and effort instead of me doing it all by myself. The beauty of network marketing plr products is you can change the contents and rebrand it as your own which makes you an expert in network marketing immediately.
Conclusion
I guess I have explained too much about network marketing plr products rather on what is network marketing. I’m willing to spend more $$ if I absolutely have to.

Phil Evans asked:
Referral networking in business is not going away. No matter how high-tech, plugged in, or globalized the world becomes, networking will be around forever. You need networking, and you need it to work for you. But as consumers, clients, customers, and executives all realize the power and usefulness of networking you are faced with the difficulty of discriminating how, when, why, and how much networking you should be doing.
For example, if you joined every networking web site there was, you could make a full time job of just filling out web forms. Or, if you attended every networking function in your industry, you would do nothing but eat, drink, and mingle.
So, what are you going to do. This article attempts to lay out seven keys to business networking growth.
1. Become the go-to guy for a networking question. As you begin to network, your circle of acquaintances grows. Your rolodex of numbers increases. And you start running out of room to put business cards. In time, you will build a reputation as a pretty good networker. Now and then someone may come up to you and say, “Hey, do you happen to know a good franchise consultant?” You dig in your drawer, whip out a business card and say, “Give him a call. I met him last March. Nice guy.” Bingo. You’ve scored a point. You’ve made a connection. And you’ve won some trust. Eventually, a few more people will come up to you and say, “Hey, I heard that you may know a good marketing firm…” And so it has begun. By and by, you will receive a certain degree of recognition as someone who is very well connected, knows a lot of people, and can point people in the right direction. But networking is a snowballing adventure. The more people you know, the more people you can get to know. The more people that come to you with networking questions, the more people you can find out about and get to know. Make it your goal to become the networking guru in your space.
2. Seek opportunities to help others. Helping people is at the core of networking. A networking attempt is so much more than a handshake and an exchange of a name card. It is so much more than accepting a connection on LinkedIn. The value of your network is not measured by the amount of names that you know, but by the amount of help you can provide. As you survey the networking landscape, don’t look at is as a host of names to know. Look at is as a host of people to help. After all, the only truly valuable networking will be from people whom you know personally and whom you have helped. Once you help people, especially in a sacrificial or altruistic way, you’ve won their trust. They have a degree of confidence in you. That confidence will translate into them recommending you. That is exactly what you want. That is the way to grow your network, and that is a crucial key to business networking growth.
3. Seek opportunities for others to help you. But it works both ways. Not only should you be helping others, but others can be helping you. If you need help, ask for it. Gaining help from others creates a human connection that can’t be gained any other way. Besides, you get to see the skills of another from a unique angle. You get to see how the person works. You get to experience their product. And you get to establish a mutual relationship of trust. That goes miles in the networking world. People willl remember those whom they help, and it is the perfect way to build a strong, lasting network.
4. Be everywhere often. Though it sounds daunting, it is possible to carve out a significant presence for yourself. The key word here is “strategic.” As I mentioned, it is an incredible waste of time to join every networking site out there. Though you will receive a plethora of invitations, be selective. Join only the ones that will best accomplish your purposes. It should be standard, however, to at least have a presence on LinkedIn, the current networking site leader. Other industry-specific websites should be consulted as well. In addition, attend several strategic functions as often as you can. Again, too much is too much, but make it your practice to be at the important ones as often as possible.
5. Know people well. When you meet people, remember their names and some specifics about them. Don’t be ashamed to write names down. You need to remember them. Carry around a pen and pad of paper, and jot down notes. Not just for names, but facts, too. When you pick up the phone to call that potential customer, it will go a long way to say, “By the way, how’s your mother-in-law? I remember you mentioned she had surgery last week.”
6. Host something. Be a networking leader and go ahead and host something. It can be as simple as a backyard barbecue for all the CFOs in your town. Or it can be as big as a golf outing for all the engineering firms. Either way, you can quickly become a networking mogul, just by organizing events. After all, once the event is over, you have a list of everyone who signed up–complete with numbers and all.
7. Finally, make it fun. Networking can be a fulfilling hobby. After all, you’re interacting with people. People can be a lot of fun. Face the challenge of being a networking guru, but make it an enjoyable and refreshing hobby.

Jacob Sikais asked:
g is obviously an essential part of network marketing. Every successful network marketer knows this to be true. Although networking is such an intricate part of network marketing, the two terms are not synonymous. However there are many similarities. Both rely heavily on people skills. Both require people to confront their fear of talking to other people. Both carry with them the risk of rejection. Both also carry with them enormous opportunity. And to some people, both are considered dirty words.
Of course people that consider networking as something that is ‘not done’ don’t understand what networking is really about. The same can be said of people that think network marketing is something that is beneath them. Too many people think that networking is a way to get connected solely for their own advancement in life. In that respect a person might feel that it is unethical or not noble to network. This line of thinking stems from the idea that advancement will always come at the expense of someone else, that success in life is a zero-sum game. These people often look at network marketing from the same perspective. They think of profiting from other people’s efforts as something that is negative and not fair to them. In reality, successful networkers will tell you that it doesn’t work that way at all. Networking doesn’t have to be at anybody’s expense and the business of network marketing doesn’t reward anyone for taking advantage of others. It actually rewards people for helping other people to succeed. In that respect it may very well be the most ethical business model in the world today.
A lot of the negativity around networking can be explained by the different types of networkers. Some can be considered ‘hunters’, moving in for a quick kill, after which they move out again. They often operate without regard of the other persons interest and because of this they will enjoy the fruits of success for only a limited period of time. Often it will not take long before people find out what’s really driving the hunter. Once they see that he or she is only looking after his or her own interests, their willingness to interact with this person will quickly evaporate. By contrast, truly successful networkers are often ‘farmers’ who spend a lot of time sowing and nourishing their relationships, instead of just focusing on reaping. They invest in their network, they energize their network. They use their network, but they never ever abuse their network! And their network knows this. A true networker will always keep the interests of others in mind. That’s why working with a true networker is so enjoyable. Networkers are often very likeable and as such people like to interact with them.
Networking is a skill that is essential to all businesses not just network marketing. Although network marketing differs in many ways from the more traditional forms of doing business, the importance of networking is just as prevalent. If not more so. A network marketer that doesn’t know how to network will be out of business in no time. Network marketing is first and foremost a people’s business and this implies that the ability to effectively work with people is absolutely critical. This is why successful network marketers are extremely adept at networking. Many have found out over time that developing this skill can pay off in many areas outside their network marketing business as well. Business owners who have started a home based business on the side often apply their enhanced networking and people’s skills in their traditional business with great success. For some network marketers this spin-off has earned them more money than the income from their network marketing business itself.
So whether you are in network marketing or in a more traditional type of business, don’t underestimate the importance of becoming an effective networker. And if you really want to master this skill you may find there is a lot to learn from good network marketers. So if you happen to know anybody that fits that description, try and benefit from their knowledge on the topic. It will surely help you network your way to success!

Can I use my old router to connect to my current one?
I basically want to use it as a wireless receiver, but I assume it was made to send the connection, not to receive it.
Can I still use it for this purpose?

Social networking is increasingly popular, and have become wildly popular with a varied demographic. The birth of the social networking phenomenon has seen a shift in the way that many people browse the web, and especially in the way that people interact socially. Bebo, Facebook, Flickr, Friendster, LinkedIn, MySpace and Twitter are among other plethora of social networking sites out there on the net. They seem to have become unavoidable, and spring up wherever you go.
Everything about social networking is based on the profile. People spend hours updating their profiles just to let the world know whatever they happen to be doing. It seems that everyone is trying to live as their own mini celebrity, and suddenly everyone want to know your intimate details on everything from your address and date of birth to your musical tastes. The desire to have the most friends, or the most hits, makes people scramble to get as many friends as they can, even if they’ve never met the person. They add a vast swathe of plugins while bloggers and YouTube video makers are all trying to score as many hits as possible.
Each month there are billions of page views of ‘Web 2.0′ websites as people return time and time again to Social Networking Sites (SNS) like Facebook and MySpace, Social Media sites like YouTube and Blogger and Social Information sites like Wikipedia and Delicious. Cagora has recently launched the first Global Community Network consisting of more than 20,000 local and special interest communities that appeal to all generations. Cagora goes beyond Social Networking, Social Media and Social Information to provide Community Networking, Community Media and Community Information where Individuals , Businesses and Community Groups are all part of the same network.
The popularity of social networks has spurred many website owners to develop their own social networking website or to integrate social networking into their existing website. There are many reasons why you would want to build a social networking website or add one to your existing website. You may want to integrate social networking into your existing website to drive more traffic and expand your user base. Or if you have a company or group, you may want to benefit from a virtual pace to hangout, communicate, and share ideas, content, and files.
Whatever your reason, there are many social networking software platforms that offer distinct features to create your own social networking website, either independently or in conjunction with an existing website. Some are incredibly easy to use but offer limited customization while others require extensive technical knowledge but can run seamlessly with your website. With a little technical knowledge it is relatively easy to fully customize your own social network and even integrate it into your existing website. You also have the option to pay designers to create the perfect social networking add-on for your website. Most will also offer just about every imaginable feature you could want for your social network, making sure you do not loose out on functionality.
Some remotely hosted solutions give you the ability to customize your network’s URL so visitors to your existing site get a sense of congruence as they navigate from your main site to your social networking platform. They give webmasters more intricate control over layout by allowing webmasters to manipulate HTML headers, footers, and CSS styling. Although they take more skill to use, once developed they give your social networking site a more seamless and professional look. Some also offer unlimited storage for pictures, videos, audio, and videos for free. With this, your members will not have to worry about running out of space when sharing content. Others, however, have limits on storage capacity depending on the plan you purchase.
GoingOn is one such social networking software platform that webmasters who are looking for an innovative solution to their social networking needs can use. GoingOn is relatively new, and still in BETA status, which means that not all the modules are currently performing to their potential, but it will be the most feature rich platform among its competitors. GoingOn is easy to set up and requires little technical knowledge. It is also built using open source software which means that it will have even more potential for features and add-ons over time. Like its competitors GoingOn offers a selection of membership options. The paid packages allow webmasters to control advertising while the free packages are controlled by GoingOn.
However, if you need a perfectly functioning platform now, Ning or Kickapps are better options. They are also easier to set up than GoingOn and offer different pricing plans, and have more advanced functionality that can be used as an add on to an existing website.
Advertising on a social networking website created with a remotely hosted platform can very easy to set up and use, while some require more technological skill to set up but the results are worth it if you have the skill or can afford a web designer that does. Some platforms offer innovative advertising programs, while others don’t offer much advertising flexibility. Creators can get total control over advertising including collecting revenue, wile some platforms offer no control at all. Some offer innovative widgets that make promoting your social network easy even on a viral level, others are limited in functionality. So be sure to compare features.
With this free willed disclosure of all kinds of personal information and the ability to so easily carve out your own webspace has really opened up the Internet to the masses and released it from the grip of the computer geek, thus become a hacker’s paradise. Your name, address, date of birth and in fact just about everything about you could become available to hackers to use as they please. Sites such as Facebook and MySpace could become platforms for more serious Trojan attacks. So far social network sites have been hit by relatively harmless worms, adware and phishing attacks. However, with the amount of personal data so readily available it is certainly feasible that online banking data and other sensitive information could become compromised.

Jonathan Mac asked:
Social networking is a big buzz in today’s world of Internet marketers. Social networking can be said to be virtually started (introduced) by My Space and facebook. Today, these two giant social networking websites are the ones most visited by people. Many of the Internet marketers have found charming opportunities to market their products through these social networking websites. Though all the members of these social networking websites are not targeted, many of the Internet marketers consider this as an effective means to get more free exposure to their business.
There are many social networking websites that are emerging each and every month. TalkMoola.com, Zenzuu, Friendswin, Yuwie, and Wowzza are some of them launched recently. With all these social networking websites, Internet marketers have a wide source to promote their business. However, many of the Internet marketers complain that social networking is a complete waste of time and they didn’t find gain out of it. It is because not all network marketers have caught on to the power of social networking yet or how to properly use social networking to explode their businesses. But the ability to further expose themselves and their business to other like-minded people is extremely valuable and profitable for most.
The most important fact about social networking websites is that all social networks that are created are not equal. Social networks differ in many ways. It is up to you to choose the best social network that suits your business promotional needs.
Look for Social networks with similar interests
Before signing up with any social networking website for business promotion, you should make sure that the network has people who would be interested in what you have to offer, or are like-minded to you. For example, if you are trying to promote your business of electronic goods online, then you should look for social networking websites with related communities and forums. If you try to promote your electronic product in a social network that includes members looking for a date or love, it would be a complete waste of time.
Active involvement is essential
Maximum exposure to your business through social networks can be achieved only by increasing the contacts. This can be achieved by accepting all the friend invitations within the social network and searching for like-minded people in the community and adding them as friends. The larger your list of friends the more active you will appear to be and more people will take heart to what you have to say. Active involvement in social networks is essential for effective business promotion. Regular forum participations, blog postings and messaging to friends are some kinda active involvement. While promoting a business in a social network, bulk messaging is a facility to look for. Some social networks limit the amount of people you are able to send a message to at once. On the other hand, some social networks will let you add unlimited friends and you can send them a bulletin or message to all your friends at once anytime with ease. This is what you should be looking for.
Create your own social networking website
It’s always good to create your own social networking website for promoting your business. Zoe DeLuca asked:
Are you attracting leads to your business? Or are you still spending time and money chasing opportunity leads to grow your Network Marketing business?
The new generation of network marketers are challenging the traditional methods for growing a Network Marketing business.
It’s not a matter of one way being right or wrong it really is just a matter of using the “advantages” that are available by marketing on the internet and maximizing the power of new Web 2.0 technologies to grow your business fast than ever before.
The World Wide Web is undergoing a change in the way that people interact and network with the growth of Social Network sites. There are thousands of Social Networks springing up all over the web (infact there are over 2000 already!) and this represents a huge opportunity for smart business owners to generate leads for their business for free.
Sites such as Facebook and Myspace are well known, and used, by the Generation Y’s to socialize and share information, images and music etc. But network marketers are now maximizing these sites, and many others, to generate leads for their businesses and explode their downline recruiting.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to using internet marketing and social networking in particular to grow your Network Marketing business.
What’s Social Networking?
Basically any site that allows the users to generate content by interacting, sharing information and connecting with other users is a social network site.
This new generation of websites are called Web 2.0 sites or technologies and their growth is phenomenal.
How can you use Social Networking sites to generate leads?
There are so many ways to generate leads for free utilizing Web 2.0 sites that it can be quite daunting when you first start. To describe each method fully, I would need to write a complete book, but I would like to give you an outline of each so that you understand the options you have available and some example websites to start with.
Note that these are only some of the free internet marketing options available to you and most overlap in terms of maximizing your positioning in the “natural search” results for search engines.
Your free “Social” Internet marketing options include:
Content Sharing: Example sites: Squidoo, Hubpages – Where you simply post information to share with others. You could be posting information about a single idea or event (such as an upcoming training) or simply sharing information about yourself or your company. These are narrative style posts that are designed to create interest and enhance your positioning on search engines.
Article Posting: Example site: Ezine Articles, Idea Marketers – Taking content sharing a step further, you become an Author and create articles (much like this one) designed to educate and inform. You then can ‘post’ these articles to various sites on the internet so that they can be viewed and shared with e-Zine (electronic magazine) publishers.
While article posting may increase your search engine ranking, the intention behind article posting is to give good information in your content so that online publishers will use your articles in their e-zines and extend your marketing reach to their readers. This gives you an opportunity to speak to a highly targeted group and positions you as an expert in your field.
Book Marking: Example site: Digg, del.icio.us – Services that allow you to “flag” or “book mark” individual pages on the internet that interest you. This allows you to form a network of all of the places on the internet where you have content and link them to each other. Great for improving your search engine traffic and also allows your web visitors to access all of the information you have posted online.
Fantastic to cross promote with other marketers and to ‘give back’ to other authors that you believe are offering valuable information.
Social Sites: Example sites: Face Book, MySpace, Direct Matches, Yuwie, Wowzza – These are networking or social gathering sites for internet users. Much like offline networking clubs, users set up a personal profile and then introduce themselves to other members.
Online the networking is done by requesting other users to become your “friend” and view your profile. You can then exchange information and, depending upon the site, interact through groups with users with similar interests.
Blogging: Example sites: Square Space, Blogger – A Blog in it’s basic form is simply an online journal. A place where you can share your knowledge, thoughts, feelings, opinions etc with the online community.
Many people keep personal blogs to let family and friends know what they are up to, others post blogs to rally support for their organisations or causes while business owners can use blogs to share updated information with their customer and to advertise their business.
To be successful a blog needs to be “updated”, or have posts added to it frequently – most popular blogs have daily (or more frequent) postings.
Blog entries tend to be shorter and more relaxed in nature than article postings and often include pictures and/or videos. All online network marketing campaigns should include a blog as part of your overall marketing strategy.
Video Sharing: Example site: YouTube – The social media that is exploding beyond all belief. This technology allows you to create a video and upload this to the Web for other users to view. Video sharing has already made superstars out of previously unknown musical artists by the “viral effect” created when users share the videos with their friends and networks.
For the network marketers video sharing is powerful as you can create a video, upload it, then link this to your other social marketing such as blogs, networking sites, content sharing lens etc, etc.
Plus many more…The opportunities appear endless but is important for you to know that the emphasis in social network marketing is to provide good information.
If you approach these methods only with the idea of “selling”, either your product or your opportunity, then you will quickly find that you run out of “friends” that are willing to hear your message. Exactly like word of mouth advertising in the offline market.
So where do you start? I suggest you focus on one method at a time and get your first listing “up” as quickly as possible. If you spend too much time trying to make your first article perfect then you will probably never actually post anything at all.
If you are new to the internet or social marketing, then I suggest that you follow a step by step program that shows you exactly where to start.
Two resources that I use and recommend are Ann Sieg’s “The Renegade Network Marketer” and Mike Dillard’s “Magnetic Sponsoring”. Both of these systems teach you not only how to generate leads for free, but how to “monetize” the process so that you can actually generate revenue through the process.
This helps to overcome another obstacle for many Network Marketers of not having enough cash flow to build their business. Two things every Network Marketer needs – more leads and greater cash flow! The perfect combination.
Remembering of course that anything you do in building your Network Marketing business needs to be duplicatable by your team.
The exact system that you chose, or the methods that you use, are less important than the mind shift you need to do in order to recognize the value of this new marketing system and then get into action to implement this into your business.
So put down that phone, stop cold calling leads and start your Social Marketing campaign today.
You will be amazed by the opportunities that are available to you if you spend the time and energy in learning to maximize Social Inter-Net-work Marketing.

asked: is there any advantage to using a wireless network that is secured really?
and is the unsecured network option going to cause any problems really ? for example is it possible that people could see what I am doing online who are using the same router?
why do people really choose to use a secured network really if there isnt a problem?
sounds kind of selfish doesnt it?
why and how so in your opinion?
thanks for your answers!

Darren Olander asked:
Can you guess what the big buzz is lately for network marketers? Social Networking! I will explain why but let’s take a quick look at how it started. At first there was MySpace and Facebook, two huge social networking giants. Network Marketers have joined them in order to market their opportunities through these sites. It is a great way for that extra free exposure even though the members of the networks aren’t entirely targeted.
However, the value of marketing on Myspace and Facebook is quickly dropping. This is due to the massive release of new and niche focused social networks. The fact is that this year alone I have seen an increasing number of professional social networks geared towards network marketers launching and becoming increasingly popular. To name a few: TalkMoola.com, Zenzuu, Friendswin, Yuwie, and Wowzza. A couple older ones are DirectMatches, AdLandPro, and even Ryze. Honestly I wouldn’t even be the least bit surprised to see a few more start-up this year – that is how much it is catching on! It is also obvious why they do become so popular among network marketers, because there is no better advertising than targeted advertising. Exposing your business opportunity, system, or product to other network marketers is simply the most effective thing to do. Once a network marketer joins you they already have had their foot in the door and are somewhat knowledgeable about the industry and can greatly help your business. However if a random person from MySpace sees and joins your business they are not nearly as valuable to you because they most likely have no idea what they are doing or what network marketing is even about.
So when network marketers are invited with the ability to join a social network full of network marketers it is almost a no-brainer. Just to clarify why I said “almost”… It is because not all network marketers have caught on to the power of social networking yet or how to properly use social networking to explode their businesses. But the ability to further expose themselves and their business to other like-minded people is extremely valuable and profitable for most. The old way of network marketing is out, and I see the future holding tight to social marketing through professional social networks. Even so, many of these new business social networks are offering incentives for those who join. These range from revenue sharing, direct affiliate commissions, and various MLM pay plans. Through this supporting these new business social networks they will experience the increased awareness and exposure that they deserve.
All professional social networks, however, are not created equal. Here are a few things you need to look out for when deciding which ones you will utilize in exposing yourself and your opportunities.
1) Somewhat Targeted or Extremely Targeted?
When looking over your social networks find out if the people involved in the social network are the type of people who would be interested in what you have to offer, or are like-minded to you. This means that if you are a network marketer looking to provide an opportunity to other network marketers then the people involved in the social network should be strictly network marketers. Does the social network you are considering include members looking for a date or love? If the social network includes this or niches totally unrelated to you then this weakens the potential of that network for you. However, if the social network is only network marketers or business opportunity seekers then it is an incredible source for you.
2) Are there limitations on contacting your friends in bulk?
Increasing your friends or contact list on social networks is the one major thing you must do in order to maximize your exposure and reach. This means accepting friend invitations from those within the social network and also seeking out other like-minded to add to your network of friends. The larger your list of friends the more active you will appear to be and the more people will take heart to what you have to say. It also means more people who you can send messages to through the social network. Some social networks limit the amount of people you are able to send a message to at once. Let’s say you have 200 friends but you are limited to sending to only 30 people per message and you can only send one bulk message per day. Well this is a very negative restriction and even more so if you have a much larger network of friends. On the other hand, some social networks will let you add unlimited friends and you can send them a bulletin or message to all your friends at once anytime with ease. This is what you should be looking for because whether you have 100 friends, 1,000 or even 10,000 you can send them all a message just as easily as if you were sending it to one. This means potentially huge exposure for you. If you want you can even consider it like an instant contact list of targeted prospects! However, I do warn about sending too much unwanted messages to your friends, you should try to connect with them and send them as much quality information as you can instead and then lightly introduce what you have to offer. If you consistently send what they would consider as spam messages they will just block you or remove you from their friends’ network, so using the social network properly is important.
3) Are the members free, paid, or both?
Another factor is the true quality of the member base. If the membership is mostly free then they are less likely to be purchase ready. However, if the membership is all paid and everyone is used to paying to be a part of the social network then these are the highest quality members you can get in touch with because they will have the money to invest in working with you. Mixed is fine though as this factor is not as important as the first two.
4) How are the other site incentives?
This is the least important but should still be mentioned. Other incentives could be the pay plan such as revenue sharing, affiliate commissions, or some type of matrix structure. It could also be other services provided with your cost of the membership such as training, tools, or other bonuses. Keep in mind, even if they do not offer great incentives but the rest of the above factors are positive I would still be excited to join.
Right now there is not a huge selection of targeted professional social networks but I am positive that the future will hold true for more and more becoming available. Personally I like to take advantage and join any social network because that is extra exposure for me, and any extra exposure is always a good thing. However when choosing to be most active in select networks you may want to consider the above factors. I have created many strong relationships, learned a lot, taught a lot, and profited a lot from those relationships within social networks. You should take at least some advatange of every professional social network available, even if it is just setting up a profile to gain some extra exposure. If they are a niche social network that have like-minded inviduals similar to yourself then you should definitely be more open to actively using that network. The benefits can be enormous.

Steve Smith asked:
Rarely a day goes by without a high profile security breach making the industry headlines. McAfee put the global cost of data breaches at £700Bn ($980Bn). A recent virus attack struck down three London hospitals –their computers had anti-virus software but it had been incorrectly configured, allowing an old virus in through a backdoor. The increase in data stealing malware (malicious software) is also very alarming and can attack the most diligent users. So, how can we protect our business from hackers, malware or viruses?
A few years ago one of my friends accidentally connected a laptop directly onto their ADSL modem to surf the web. The laptop had no security software. After less than an hour it had come to a standstill with almost 150 viruses and malware infections. I spent almost seven hours rescuing the laptop along with the data (no backup!).
You may think this is a rare case and not something that will affect you. I have to admit this is an extreme case; however, a single virus attacks on one computer may spread across many or all of your computers in minutes. One in twelve computer attacks will render network devices and services completely out of action. Our engineers have been called to several attacks where every member of staff had to be sent home while their computers were rendered completely out of action. The costs are significant due to loss of productivity of several hundred staff, IT staff costs to disinfect computers and loss of business (immediate and future).
In November last year an article in the Guardian warned computer users to be vigilant as “next Monday will be the worst day of the year for computer attacks”. What does this mean in real terms? It is difficult enough to keep a close eye on incoming emails for misspelt or otherwise suspicious subject lines but this is far from ideal. Not only is it naïve to think that every member of staff will be as vigilant as you are, but how do you quantify the cost of this daily distraction. Not only do we have the risk of email attacks, we also have browser attacks from infected web sites, corrupt Internet Messenger connections. It is almost impossible to stay one step ahead in IT security.
Your business computers may also be brought to a near standstill by relatively ‘innocent’ applications such as Skype or peer-to-peer media sites where some of your business computers may be participating in peer-to-peer networking. This also introduces copyright infringement risk – I know of more than one case where a major US film company has issued a ‘copyright infringement warning’ to a UK company, having traced them through the Internet via their ISP. There are unlikely to be any obvious signs of this activity. As if this does not give us enough to worry about, email spam and the risk of direct attacks by hackers add to our headaches.
So, what can be done to protect our business without us having to spend all of our time attempting to police our IT infrastructure? It is obvious that only those who know the risks can develop strategies to protect against them.
Sophisticated attacks require a comprehensive security solution. This traditionally required a range of security appliances such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems but these generally required qualified IT security personnel to maintain updates – virtually a full time job. In recent years these devices were combined into single Unified Threat Management appliances with automatic updates, but even these solutions had difficulty keeping pace with the demands of a fast growing threat diversity. Also, some Unified Threat Management appliances operated with cut down security signatures based on the most common attacks rather than the majority of potential attacks.
The latest generation of UTM – Next Generation Threat Management (NGTM) promise affordable premium class security for large and small business, government and education networks. NGTM appliances are designed and built specifically as a security platform providing a very comprehensive IT security solution in a box.
NGTM comprise a full range of security tools including: Firewall, Intrusion Detection/Protection, Dual Inline Anti-Virus, Anti-SpyWare, MalWare Detection, Content Inspection, Anti-Spam, Remote Access, Virtual Private Network facilities as standard.
The greatest problem for any security solution is to keep pace with the rapid onslaught of hundreds of threats every hour. Next Generation Threat Management overcomes this problem with hourly automatic updates, significantly reducing the risk of these threats and human error or oversight to your business.
Security threats pose very real risks. Business owners, directors and managers ignore them at their peril. If you make economies on your IT security, you are gambling not only with your company, but also your career and you are potentially risking litigation.
