Can you buy me now? Apple and the war for the mobile market
The short history of the computer industry is dominated by two well-known stories of business triumph and defeat. The first is the story of how mainframe makers failed to take the personal computer seriously until it was too late. Most of them faded away , and those that didn’t still failed to dominate the PC industry. The second is the story of how Apple Computer, Inc. refused to license its …

I’m buying an Epson Artisan 810 (All-in-one printer/scanner, etc) and have a home network with an airport extreme that has USB port built in for printers. The printer also has ethernet/wifi connectivity, i was just wondering which one of these connection options would be best. Maybe pluses/minuses of each. I run OS X 10.6, but want guests using Windows to be able to access it without too much configuration. Thanks for any help.
Answer by Sean H
The printer will likely work better if it’s directly connected to the network rather than to the Airport Extreme. It’ll be easier to troubleshoot over Ethernet since you don’t have Wi-Fi or the router in the equation.
If you need it to be portable then use Wi-Fi (it should work fine), but if you’re ok with it being near your router then plug it in via Ethernet (should be more reliable than Wi-Fi).

If Anyone Can Find a Place for Mobile Video Chat, It’s Apple
Steve Jobs certainly didn’t invent the concept of videophones; they’ve been dialing up the imaginations of comic-book artists and science-fiction writers and filmmakers for decades. Various companies other than Apple have actually managed to assemble working videophones — AT&T, carrier for Jobs’ iPhone 4, came out with its “Picturephone” just in time for the 1964 World’s Fair in New York City.

Jobs at WWDC: Taking the Stage With Chutzpah Only Apple Can Afford
Talk about dealing from a position of strength: Apple and Steve Jobs enter next week’s Worldwide Developers Conference as kings of the tech industry hill, makers of must-have consumer products and generators of must-read technosphere headlines. He strode onstage at this week’s D8 Conference still looking understandably frail considering his health issues. However, the passion was still there

I am in the market for a new computer – laptop preferably for portability reasons. My main uses on a computer are email, social networking, Internet use, photo editing and digital scrapbooking. No gaming. There is the possibility of wanting it for video use in the future but not at the current time. I currently own a PC, however I used MAC computers all through college so I am familiar with the use of both. My question is, what are the pros and cons of buying a MAC or PC?
